Fertilizers and insecticides are two types of chemicals used in industrial agriculture. The former increase soil fertility, increasing agricultural productivity, whilst the latter safeguard crops by reducing weeds (herbicides), insect and animal infestation (insecticides and rodenticides), and fungal/mold diseases (fungicides)
